Very early Santa Claus candy container. Approximately 7\" tall. Charming figure of Santa Claus as he skis on a pair of cardboard skis. Made of cardboard. Santa is painted in the earliest shiny red paint with sprinkling of silver glitter embedded in the surface (see photos). Santa\'s body and hat are red. Santa has blue mittens on his hands and holds a \"ski pole\" in each hand (see photos). Santa has hand-painted eyebrows and eyes. Santa sports a real rabbit hair fluffy beard (refer to photos). These shiny red containers were produced much earlier than the later containers made of flocked red cardboard. This candy container was designed to amuse children as a holiday treat. The body is constructed in two sections that fit together. When placed together the container is nice and snug. The interior of Santa\'s body is empty now but originally was used to hide sweets or nuts for Christmas gifts. The interior of the container is covered in delicate floral paper in an aqua color (see photos). We love to use these containers as ornaments on our tree at Christmas time.
