The Early Paper Money of America by Eric P. Newman, Bicentennial Edition—1976. This is the standard reference book on the subject. According to the dust jacket it is an extensively illustrated compilation of historic and numismatic data on paper money issued from 1686 to 1800 in what is now the United States of America, encompassing::

• individual British colonies in America (1690-1776)

• The United Colonies (1775-1777)

• The United States of America (1777-1787)

• Individual American states (1776-1788)

• unincorporated and incorporated banks (1686-1800)

• cities and counties (1774-1796)

• French and Spanish colonies in American (1719-1800)

• individuals, businesses, and organizations (1729-1800)

It is a very interesting numismatic book—possibly more than any other. This copy is not the newest edition (but it is in perfect new condition, but in some ways it is BETTER than the current edition. First, the current edition is very expensive—over $100 and this edition has most of the same information. Of course the values have been updated in the new edition, but they need to be updated in both editions. Secondly, this edition is a collectible item in its own right! You might want to add it to your collection of numismatic (or colonial history) books, or use it as a reference book, and then have the possibility of actually selling it at a profit sometime in the future.

This edition is 416 large-format pages in perfect condition. It even comes in the original 1976 paper wrapper.

This book comes from duplicates and other things that I am selling from my accumulations of the past 50 years. Watch for more interesting items in the coming weeks. I will also be selling items from the estate of my mother-in-law.

I have not included a scan of the actual book being sold because it did not seem to be all that necessary.
