Early English brunette sidepart Sasha doll, Trendon, with original pink party dress (1969). This particular doll with this outfit and the brunette sidepart was made only in 1969, according to the Sasha Dolls Serie Identification book. This is a 16-inch vinyl English Trendon Sasha doll with beautiful hand-painted brown eyes with eyelashes. She wears her original pink cotton dress and sash, white shoes and socks, and underwear (shirt and panties). Her pants have loose elastic. She has the hook and bar neck assembly. The cord in both her legs and arms is white with light blue stripes (see 2 photos of elastic cord - the first is of leg string and second of arm). The cord does look like it might be knotted inside her body (hard to tell) but is firm. She even still has sand inside her body (you can also see this in the photos of her leg elastic - this was left over from the casting when the dolls were made). Her side-parted hair is beautiful and full with slight curls, which you can see in the photos. She does have the falling-hair issue that is common with these brunettes - some comes out when her hair is brushed, but she does retain a beautiful head of hair and no plugs missing, and she should be just fine as a display doll. She has been displayed on my Sasha shelf for some time now (10+ years) and has not been handled much by me, and it seems that her previous owner also displayed her as she does not appear to have been played with. I searched for her for years before I found such a nice version of this doll. I really hate to give her up, but I’m needing to downsize my doll collection a bit, so I will be selling a few treasures including Natterers and Sashas over the next months.
