Up for offers is a very cool old antique Snap On mechanics tool. This vintage tool is a Snap-On No 6 Ratchet Adapter from the 1920s. The Alloy Artifacts website says it was in catalogs from 1920 to 1921. It was patented on 30 Jan 1923. The patent date is stamped on theclutch adapterbut the 23 is hard to make out. The Snap On logo is clear. There is no No 6. This is the the 15 teeth version.There is normal surface rust and patina due to age. The ratchet turns and the spring pressure is good This is a very nice old Snap On tool

The Alloy Artifacts website say Although Snap-On didn\'t offer a true ratchet until the mid 1920s, they did provide an unusual splined ratchet adapter beginning in 1920 or possibly early 1921.
