These beautiful, early Victorian black silk slippers date to the 1830\'s or possibly the 1840\'s. They have straight soles (meaning no left or right distinction), and ribbons that were used to tie around the ankle. On the bottom of the sole are the letters \"BOR,\" which I assume is the maker. Though the ribbons for tying around the ankle are frayed from age, the shoes themselves are in mint, hardly worn condition.
