Early Victorian Sterling Silver Gilt Wide Garnet Bracelet:

As far as garnet bracelets go, this one takes the cake, or at least a very large piece with lots of roses on it.... It is crafted from Sterling Silver with a gold gilt and natural garnets. There are NO stones missing, but I do see one or two replacements, great match in color and size. The face of this bracelet is stunning. It is fairly wide at about 1 1/4\" with a tapered back. The garnets surround the entire bracelet. Each stone is hand set individually. The design on the front is so beautiful with three different 3 dimensional forms which is then surrounded by flat set rose cut garnets. The inside of the bracelet which lays against the skin is silver gilt, tested as sterling as there are no hallmarks found. There is wear to the gilt and appears from the inside to have a very very old repair which is completely unapparent from the outside, a bit odd as there is absolutely no repair in the top and bottom boarder or evidence of any stones in this area being repaired or replaced, but noted. The clasp is a clicking tongue and grove with two eye loops for attaching a safety chain if desired. The clasp works as it should with no movement, but is a tad bit stiff, which is a good thing, it will keep this beauty on with out hesitation. This piece dates from the early 1800\'s. It is a transition piece from the Georgian/Victorian era. Such a great example of this desirable bohemian garnet bracelet.
