This isan XXL Non-Commissioned Officer\' NCO Service Dress Uniformof the East German NVA Air Force or Luftstreitkräfte The set includes Tunic & Trousers & Visor Hat.
The single breasted Blue Piped tunic is marked size SG56, which most sources say this converts to about a US size 44-46 very long length.
It is stone gray/greenish in color with4 pleated patch pockets, an inside left pocket and pebbled buttons.It is very similar to the German WWII style officer\'s tunic.
It has pebbled aluminum buttons to close & there is an internal dagger hanger.
The jacket has blue piping around the collar & cuffs. There is tailor sewn silver NCO tress or braid sewn around the collar. Air Force \'Luft-Blue\' backed enlisted collar insignia are tailor sewn on the collar & NCO blue piped shoulder boards are included.
The uniform comes complete the pictured tailor made decoration loops above the left chest pocket to accommodate medal bars or ribbon bars.
The uniform also includes the Infantry Shooting Cord, the so called \"Schutzenschnur\" with the \"Acorn\". There is also a senior NCO service chevron tailor sewn on the right sleeve just above the cuff.
The late style Air Defense Classification Badge & NVA \'Bester Badge\' is also included.The Blue piped Officers trousers are constructed from stone gray wool/poly blend gabardine. They are labeled G52, which most sources say converts to 34-38 long length. The pants are in excellent condition.
The Air Force NCO Visor hat with Blue piping around the crown. The silver chin cord is secured with two small pebbled aluminum buttons. It has the artificial leather sweat band inside & the late size shield with a manufacture code of N, which is 1989. It is a size 58,which most sources state converts to a size 7 1/4 with Silver enlisted \'winged cockade\' & \'propeller wreath\'.
Overall theuniform is in excellent, near mintcondition, with no obvious tears, stains or obvious wear.
Theuniform wascared for very well. It is not known if there were any other alterations. Please look at pictures carefully & feel free to ask any questions before offerding/buying!
Please be advised, my collectable items have been stored for some time with mothballs to prevent insect damage, so there could be some mothball odor residue noticeable. Again, cleaning would most likely resolve that.
A very attractive \'Cold War\' era item. It is getting very difficult to find East German militaria in large sizes.
