DESCRIPTION
The presented piece is a fine large oil on canvas by the Amsterdam-born Dutch artist Elie Neuburger (1891-1972).As the title suggests, the work depicts a view in the garden of Langoed Oostermeer, a country house in a small village named Eastermar (English name for Oostermeer) in the province of Friesland, Netherlands. In this work, we are able to observe Neuburger at his experimental best, exploring relationships betweencolours, lines and forms in an arbitrary manner.
The work is in a very good to an excellent vintage condition; there are a group of tiny punctures on the corners, which appears to be marks left from a previous frame; a few tiny areas of paint loss exists. Presented in a painted vintage wooden frame from the same period (c.1950s).
