We are pleased to offer this important set of George III sterling silver entree dishes.

This zset was formerly in the collection of Count Martignone, Milan and Genoa.

Period engraved crest and coat of arms. The shield of Borough, Chetwyndpark, Newport, Shropshire, quartering possibly Boynton, second quartered shield in pretence.

The fine entree dish set from John Edward in 1800 and 1807. Match perfectly.

The finials commissioned by the original owners to match the family\'s crest at the time they were originally made.

In rectangular octagonal form. Slender petal gadroon trim.

Coat of arms and crests as noted.

Boldly cast standing and spread wing bird of prey, supporting shield with leopard\'s head and crossed sword. See close-up images.

This George III sterling bird & shield entree dishes are 12 1/4 inches by 8 3/4 inches and set weighs 121 standard ounces.

Hallmarked as shown to base, cover and finial.

In excellent condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. The bird and shield finial is original to the set, hallmarked and retains it original detail. Stands firm on table. Mild wear.
