Wonderful example of a Edwardian ring tree by the well regarded maker Henry Matthews.Circular scalloped and scrolled base of concave design with a repousse pattern of Reynolds Angels.
Standing 3 1/2 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches wide and weighing 33 grams.punched with the lion passant for assayed English silver, city mark of an Anchor for Birmingham, date letter of a lower case \"f\" for 1905. and makers mark of \"H and M in two squares for Henry Matthews.
There are 4 angels displayed, two as a pair, and two individually. The repousse work is still crisp and clear, as many similar pieces of this age lose detail, and the facade becomes rubbed. Circumferenceedge is rolled showing no signs of wear or bumping.
