Good Evening what I am listing tonight Is an 8 x 10 photo, chemically reproduced from a negative 12-15 years ago. This Is an historic photo taken on Tinian outside the assembly hutby a Los Alamos photographer of four (4) of the Scientists attached to the 509th Composite Group for the purpose of assembling and final testing of equipment for the dropping of the Atomic Bombs. This group of approximately 55 men were known as \"Project Alberta\"

The men you are looking at are top row Left to right, Harold Agnew, Luis Alverez, bottom row left to right Larry Johnston, Bernard Waldman. The significance Is that you are looking at a parachute blast gage 3 of which were dropped on each Atomic mission from the rear bomb bay of the Instrument B29 \"The Great Artiste\" to measure the pressure wave. One of the blast gages exists today In the Hiroshima Peace Museum. All four(4) men flew In the first Atomic Mission.

Larry Johnston was the only man alive to have witnessed all three Atomic Explosions and has autographed the photo with that statement. Harold Agnew went on to be the Head of the Los Alamos Laboratories, I believe, In the 1960\'s

The autographs are handsigned on the photo, this Is not a scan preprint or forgery. This Is the only photo that I have to offer. I have researched the 509th for 25 years, Historic photos such as this are not commonly found. I have a negative for this photo and I acquired the autographs.

This photo was used In my book \"The 509th Remembered\" available on our site with the same name or Amazon. Our book explains more about these missions. Larry Johnston contributed 11 pages of stories to our book.

We are saddened to hear that Mr. Johnston lost his battle with lung Cancer on Dec. 3rd. 2011, he was 93 years youngOur condolences to his family

I am disposing of my photo archive for others to enjoy and research.

Good Luck and happy offerding.
