A nice Coronation Souvenir Plate from the \"Planned\" coronation of King Edward VIII, dated May 12, 1937. He was king only a short time before he abdicated the throne so he could marry Wallis Simpson, who was twice divorced. All souvenirs were dumped because the coronation did not take place. Marked on bottom: \"Sutherland Bone China, Made in England\". Excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, and no crazing to glaze. Size is 5 3/4\" square. A nice addition to your collection.
