Click to View Image Album This is a magnificent vintage 14K yellow gold brooch that can be worn as a pendant. The previous owner wore it on 14K yellow gold chain, and I have included, so truly can be worn either way. The brooch has 5 carat amethyst framed by ring of 2mm natural white pearls. There is also a single 6mm pearl drop at the bottom of brooch. The clear purple amethyst is slightly oval in shape and it is set in ornate yellow gold filigree frame. Brooch measures 1-1/4\" wide and 1-1/2\" high. Chain is 16-1/2\" and it is marked 14K on clasp. Chain alone weighs approx 2 grams and the brooch/pendant is 9 grams (alone). There is hallmark above the 14K mark on back of brooch, looks like \"A\". The chain has a twisted pattern, I think it was added in 1970s or 80s, but brooch is older.
