I am listing an ethnic design necklace that I created, made with rare, antique glass African trade beads, originally made in Venice, and dating from the late 19th century. There are 23 black and yellow beads are called \"wedding cake\" beads, made with applied glass detail (like fancy \"wedding cake\" icing designs!), intersperced with a few millefiori and other antique beads.
Necklace: 28\" around; Brassclasp.
Beads came from the VERY large estate of a long time collector and dealer of African art, and most of his items were bought in the late 1960\'s and early 1970\'s when he had a gallery in Santa Fe. Many of the things I was lucky enough to buy were rare and very old.
