Spectacular hand carved casement for an aneroid barometer, this one has a large-antlered stag or male deer at the crest, and a hunting dog\'s head mounted at the bottom. Sides are mounted with 2 nicely carved animals, a fox and a dog, and a pair of doves at the bottom. Additionally, the crossed guns, powder horn, and even long slender grassland fronds and leaves are unbroken. This one is in excellent condition, truly. The pointed ears on the stag are not even chipped, but those huge carved wood antlers are still there. They remove and will be boxed carefully for shipment so they aren\'t broken, and they fit into holes with peg-end so simple to re-install. One of the finest ones we\'ve had in a long time, and perfect for your ski lodge, cabin, or English Country Manor decor, or even French Country home. The work that\'s gone into this elaborately carved barometer is truly amazing.

Very good condition for age and type. I\'ve noted a few imperfections in the paragraph above, to include ears on the stag being chipped; one antler has been broken cleanly and repaired. The dog and stag each have realistic anatomical detail. The guns and powder horn and, well, all of it remains as close to excellent as any we\'ve ever had. The stain on this one is very dark as you can see. It seems likely there are a couple of small chips, but I\'ve yet to find them. Look it over very carefully. Acorns and oak leaves round out the design and enrich it. The barometer is working and the thermometer is undamaged. It is 33\" tall. The case is 14\" widest and is 7\" in depth at the stag head. Both the stag head and his antlers remove easily for safer shipping, too.

You are very important! Our fine inventory is very important. And your ranking of our performance is also very important! We wish to keep our 4.9 - 5 star ratings in all categories. Customer satisfaction is paramount with us, so if you\'re thinking we have not deserved your highest marks, please contact us and allow us to be sure your concerns are completely satisfied before you rank us. We charge only actual postage & insurance, never a handling fee and never for packaging materials. is now requiring that our clients rank us on \"shipping\". The shipping price, speed and handling are actually under the sole control of the delivering postal agency, not Antiques & Uncommon Treasure so please remember that and leave us high DSR rankings. As always, please also feel free to contact us if you have any problems or concerns, we\'ll do what we can to ensure a happy and mutually enjoyable has been eliminated as an option by , forcing us sellers to either ship your items without insurance or assume that expense also. We always insure our items BUT, more importantly, pack them extremely well knowing that most are not replaceable. Again, damage in transit, while rare in our experience, is due to the postal agency handling and not caused by Antiques & Uncommon Treasure. Please remember that when leaving DSR ratings. Thanks!

Our shipping days are Tuesday and Friday, paid items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is received (except when special circumstances exist). We prefer to use USPS whenever possible, and require all packages to be insured. If you prefer another method of shipment, please mention it.
