Wow... where to begin.. this exquisite dress is an ivory cotton muslin with elaborate machine embroidered eyelet and cutwork covering nearly the entire dress, with baby blue satin ribbon lacing down both sleeves and the front of the bodice. The stitches are so incredibly tiny that I needed a magnifying lens to determine if hand sewn or machine sewn and even then it is hard to tell. I can say that there are sections where the stitches appear slightly inconsistent in direction, like going around a corner the stitches begin to slant slightly before straightening out again which I believe must be hand stitched. It is incredible work, especially if it is indeed hand sewn. There are 6 mother of pearl buttons down the back, the top two hidden behind a placket. There is an eyelet overlay around the bodice that the stitching to attach to the back was not completed and it came to me with straight pins, so there are tiny pin holes from the pins. There is also a very tiny hole start on the front skirt and a few pin dot size brown age spots that are too tiny to photograph. I could find no damage to the eyelet or embroidery. The dress also has faint yellow stains under the arms on the inside of the dress ONLY. It can only be seen slightly in the stitching of one underarm on the outside of the dress. There is also a faint yellow stain on the back. This fabric is so crisp and tidy, and the muslin the appropriate shade of ivory, I believe the dress to not have been washed at any time. Perhaps it was Sunday best or a tea party dress. It is sturdy and completely wearable! It would make the most exquisite flower girl dress for your Victorian/Edwardian wedding!!!

When I discovered this dress, my first reaction was wow.. this is priceless! Additionally, I have searched the internet and could not find anything that compares in beauty, quality or condition. It is truly a treasure that I don't expect to find again. I am just in awe! That being said, I may have sorely underpriced this piece. And it may be your lucky day! You may also feel that it might be over-priced, and you are encouraged to present me with an offer.

11" across the chest armpit to armpit

9" across the back of the shoulders

10.5" sleeve measured from shoulder

24" long from shoulder

Please remember that child needs to be smaller than these measurements for the dress to fit.

I try to ship Monday through Friday but sometimes Mondays are tough. Shipping is based on weight and location and is not always accurate to the penny but if there is a gross difference in your favor, I will refund the difference. Items that are fragile and/or have a high value may include an additional $2 for insurance. I have noticed in the past that the shipping calculator does not always agree with the postal calculator on international shipping. Once in awhile I get a surprise at the post office where the shipping is significantly higher than what has quoted. Depending on the value of the shipment, I may request payment of the difference or offer to cancel the transaction. I love flat rate priority boxes and will stuff them full to save money every chance I get!!

I do accept returns within 7 days, buyer pays return shipping and insurance. If you are an international buyer, please do not ask that I lower the value of your item on the customs form as this defeats the purpose of insurance value on your item.

Everything I sell was once someone else\'s... if I could spend every day exploring estate treasures of this rural country I call home, I would be in heaven!
