Exquisite Meiji Period Watercolor on Silk Painting Crane Among ReedsUp for sale today is an exquisite Japanese watercolor on silk. The painting features a wonderfully detailed crane among the reds. This detail is highlighted in the tail feathers and the eye. It gives the watercolor a sense of realism. I do not know the name of the artist that created the work. The watercolor is both signed and sealed. The painting was framed in Denver in 1942, but painting itself appears to be circa 1890-1910 (Meiji Period). The painting was purchased from a relative of Mr. Bosworth who is mentioned on the reverse.
