Offered for sale is a Fabulous 19th Century Homespun Linen Stitch SamplerThis unusual homespun linen runner appears to be a stitch sampler. It is exceptionally long at 116\". It is 12\" in width. Either end of the soft homespun linen fabric features multiple rows of embroidered stitch variations which were originally worked in turkey red floss and now have faded to a gorgeous soft rose patina. There are repeat single rows of stitches down the length of the sampler. The edges of the linen homespun are finished with a very fine hand hemming. The stitches are almost imperceptible!
This is a wonderful early collector\'s item, in excellent vintage condition. It is a fabulous display piece!
