Extremely fine and exquisite Japanese Cloisonne Teapot of compressed oviod shape.This type of work and shape is often associated with Namikawa Yasuyuki. The teapot is approx. 6\" in diameter.The quality of enamel and the amount of work on this piece is incredible. The teapot is worked with gilt wires and has gilt mounts over copper.Teapot is in excellent condition but for some miniscule enamel chips and hairlines in a couple areas where the bottom half of the teapot meets the top half of the potin the top of the blue and pink areas.. I consider this extremely minor. (Photos 10 and 11 show this) There is some glue residue around finial. Handle is slightly out of round which has caused enamel to SLIGHTLY raise up from metal where handle curves on both sides. Enamel is VERY STABLE and I do not see this being any kind of a problem to the enamel (last photo shows one of the curved areas).
