This is an extremely rare piece of Civil War History! This is an origianl Lorenz Bayonet that would have been used with the Lorenz Austrian M1854 rifle. This bayonet does have the Lorenz stamp that can be seen in the pics and is correct. This does have the quadrangular blade and socket with the spiral mortise. The blade is in good used condition ,as can be seen in the pics, and the locking mechanism turns easily. The blade still has a nice shine to it with some aging to it. This bayonet is 22in long from end to end. This is a piece I acquired, along with a Lorenz percussion cap pouch that is listed as well. This would make a wonderful addition to a collection and terrific display piece.
