This listing is for a Extremely Rare Sargent Rayment EL34 Tube Integrated Stereo Amplifier Model SR-2051. This amplifier sounds wonderful and has some impressive transformers. Sargent Rayment was known quite well for their quality of sound but because lack of eye appeal they were not too well known outside of the west coast (California mainly) where they produced and marketed. The amplifier was checked out by a qualified technician and is in good working condition and even impressed the technician for its sound quality. The cosmetics are not the greatest but what is lacking in cosmetics the amplifier makes up in sound quality. If any of you know the model number I would greatly appreciate the information. Due to age it is being Sold AS IS.

********* I was contacted by someone who had more information a bout the amplifier and asked him if I could post his email in the listing description to help add some educational/history light on the noticed your listing for an SR-2051. My grandfather was the original \"Rayment\" in the SR company. My father took over after my grandfather\'s death in 1951.My fatherbecame lead designer, lead foreman, sales manager and president at the young age of 23. He was responsible for designing the SR products until 1960 when he sold the company to Sky Data, a subsidiary of the Atlas Corporation. The SR-2051 was one of the last units that my father designed and had not yet gone into production when he left. It went into production in late 1960 and was only produced for a very short time. Within a year, SR(now part of Sky Data)filed for bankruptcy. This is definitely a rare piece.
