Colonial Pottery, Whieldon Road, Stoke, Stoke-on-Trent. Stoke-on-Trent is a city in Staffordshire, EnglandStoke producer, F. Winkle & Co were first established under the name Winkle and Wood in 1885 at the Pearl Pottery, Hanley. They continued until 1931 when they were taken over by giants Ridgway. \'Colonial Works\' was the name of their pottery in Stoke. They produced ware which they branded as:- Agra, Old Chelsea & Whieldon Ware.Sometimes, their pottery mark was just the initials F W & Co. The title \'LTD\' was only included after 1911.This sale is for this Victorian era FOOTED GRAVY BOAT by F. Winkle & Co. Staffordshire, England. The pattern on this piece is called \"Rothesay.\" Bottom is marked \"Rothesay Reg No 440343.\" This mark was used by F.Winkle from 1890 - 1910.It is decorated with the delighful ROTHESAY pattern which consists of lovely heart shapes and flowers in a green / brown color.This is a simply enchanting piece designed by F. Winkle & Company of Colonial Pottery in Stoke, England. The maker\'s mark on the bottom dates this piece to have been produced between 1890 and 1910. In the most gorgeous shade of teal green and brown. For more on F. Winkle: RETAIL PRICE: $69.99Condition: This piece is about 100 years old. A miracle it survived this long. It has a broken handle, in 3 pieces that appear to complete the handle. There also appears to be a hairline crack inside the bowl the does not go through to the exterior.
