Here wehave areally BEAUTIFUL,OUTSTANDINGandONE OF A KIND ORIGINALantique cabinet from the 1800\'s or EARLIER! It has anINTRICATELY DETAILED METAL FRONT DOOR WITH FRAME attachedto a wood cabinet!A magnet sticks to the metal or I would have thought it was bronze. The front metal doorand frame is 3 DIMENSIONAL and has a BEAUTIFUL large woman from the Grecian eraand she is sitting on a DETAILED stool and doing something (embroidering or repairing) to a largedrape or table cloth and there is a basket ofyarn next to her. She is wearing aBEAUTIFUL Greek draped dress of the period, sandals and a scarf is held on herhair with some of her hair and curls showing.I don\'t know if the scarf is flowing down or it is her hair. Her foot is on a stool as well. There is a largeTortiere lamp in the middle of the door (and goes in back of the woman) and thetop of it goes up to the point in the door itself. There is also a footed urn by her foot. Bythe way! The DETAIL IS SO FANTASTIC that you can see her hair strands andfinger and toe nails and the folds of her garment!! The doorway is decoratedwith a Greek design as well. This is ALLon the door. Around the door is a raiseddot and dash design, and beveled design and then it resembles wood with crossribbons, then more bevel and like a step up step down design. On the top there is a FABULOUS leaf design (thatstands 6 1/4\" taller than the wood cabinet in back) which curves forward! Thereis a large shell like piece on top center with an acanthus leaf and all kindsof leaves going nearly 4 1/2\" down both sides. It is VERY ORNATE ANDDETAILED! There is a WORD down near theleft facing side and it apparently is another language. It resembles and upsidedown \"U\" ENEAO (and another upside down \"U\" E. Maybe it isGreek? There is a keyhole but no key. The front door opens up to reveal 3compartments and 2 shelves. The shelves are 12\" long and the top andmiddle shelves are 5 1/8\"tall. The bottom shelf is 5 3/8\" tall. Depth is about 4 1/4\" top shelf, 4\"middle shelf and the bottom is about 5\" deep. VERY HEAVY at 16.4 lbs! It measures 24\"tall for the metal front, 16\" wide at the leaf design. It is 5 3/4\" deep with the wood back nearly4 7/8\" from the wall. The back wood piece has been replaced and has holesso the cabinet can be mounted from inside it and can be inset into the wall orused on top of the wall too.Condition is really good with nothing wrong with the metal front and door. The wood shelves inside the cabinet is fine. The outside wood has the usual dings on top and all but not bad and it is mostly on the top but really is not seen from the front because of the metal front. The back piece has been replaced but cannot be seen unless the door is opened or you look in back. The key is missing as noted before.FANTASTIC cabinet and you won\'t see another like it!! bk shd
