FABULOUS ANTIQUE FRENCH 14K GOLD ROSE-CUT DIAMOND TEARDROP EARRINGS c1890:

A pair of wonderful antique French, solid 14 carat gold (test) teardrop earrings. Set throughout with clustered rose-cut diamonds,they have galleried underbezels, articulated dropsand their original gold wires for pierced ears. They\'re clustered witha spread of well over 2 carats of diamonds, though due to their cut the actual weight will be less, and have natural garnet highlights setto theupper sections.They date fromthe late 1800\'sand are invery good, fully wearablecondition throughout, with an old solder repair/strengthening to one wire (easily tidied up by a jeweller)and one or two nicks/chips to a couple of diamonds\' edges - though as their cut is irregular, it\'s not readily noticeable. Together they weigh8.5grams and measure 43 mm drop. The final photo shows them with a US penny (1 cent) coinfor scale, which measures19mm/ ¾ of an inchdiameter.
