FABULOUS VINTAGE ANTIQUE SERBIAN FOLK COSTUME SHIRT NN60:

Length: 20” to the bottom of the pleats + another 7” of muslin, sleeves: 19” along the underarm seam
This fabulous shirt came from the estate of a Serbian who emigrated to America. The detail is amazing with hand embroidery, handmade lace, metallic trims, etc. The sleeves are especially fabulous with heavy embroidery trimmed out with metallic passementerie trim and finishing with a flourish at the wrist in a ruffled treatment with lace. The whole piece is pleated in small pleats which end into a raw piece of unfinished linen at the bottom. This piece is completely handmade. A truly fabulous piece! It has quite a bit of yellowing from age on the main cotton fabric which you can see from the photos and it has one place where the metallic trim has come away from the neckline- a very small repair. Cotton/metallic fibers.
