This sale is for a beautifully detailedantique carved wood Chinesepanel with gold anddeep red ondark wood. The carved figures and their surroundings are raised from the inset background and seem to tell a story with that I wish I could know more about.The estate executor was unsure of the exact age,most likely late 18th to early 19th century. It has a few imperfections asmight be expected with a piece this old, butoverall in nice condition and a beautiful display piece. It measures approximately 21\" across,10\" tall, and 1 1/4\" thick; the weight is 2 pounds, 6 1/2 ounces.The family that owned this panel had an extensive antique display with pieces from China that they inherited. Someone has hand painted the word China in light colored paint on the back. Also, please note the close up picture of the leg that is on the right side of the panel. It has a kind of strange looking piece for the inside edge, not sure what it\'s made of or at what time over the years it was put there. I\'mdon\'t knowif it\'s a replacement piece or if it mightbe original to the panel, but I just want sure you\'re aware of it. We werefortunate enough to obtain seven panels, allwithwonderful carved Chinese figures, flowers, structures, animals,and a variety ofscenes; a few have sold already and as time allows I\'ll be listing the last of them. This panel is the largest and heaviest of the group. I\'m not sure if you can see it clearly in the picture, but this is also the only panel that has design in the open space around the figures. It\'s flowers, symbolsand figures that look like they\'re donewith a very finebrush orsome kind ofaliquid pen.If you have any questions or would like additional pictures, please write. The weight of the panel itself is 2lbs, 6 1/2 ounces so shipping weight will probably be close to 3 pounds. I\'m just going to charge $7 for the shipping and I\'ll pay the rest of it.With this weight I think the only options will be priority or parceland I\'ll send the safest and best way possible for whatever zone you live in. All of my small jewelry items havevery lowshipping but thesethat travel in larger boxes are too much to cover on my own and I\'m finding that too often I\'m paying more in shipping than I\'m making on items sold.
