AFINE CASED SET VICTORIAN ENGLISH STERLING SILVER FISH SERVERS, c1851,
A fine quality Pair of Victorian English Sterling Silver Fish Servers made by Ashforth & Harthorn, Sheffield.
They are hallmarked with the maker\'s mark \"A.H\" for Ashforth & Harthorn, the Sheffield \"crown\" town mark, the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Monarch\'s Head duty mark (Queen Victoria) and the date letter \"H\" for 1851/51.
The are also stamped with the Victorian Design Registration Mark, the design being registered on 3 May 1847.
The fork with lovely engraving to both sides, the fish slice with attractive engraving depicting a fish.
The fish slice measures just over 13\" inches (335mm) in length. The fork 9 1/2\" inches (250mm) in length.
They are complete with their original case, the interior with the retailer\'s name \"Jays, 142-144 Oxford Street, London, Diamond Merchants, Estd. 1796\".
