Description A finelarge English antique early Victoriansolid sterling silver & crystal glass travelling lock-down inkwell by the silversmith John Harrisand with a full set of English silver hallmarks forLondon 1850. Goodquality167 year old example,has a heavy glass bottle with a decorative star cut base, with a solid silver top with hinged silver lid and is complete with a threaded silver screw-down ring. Inside it has an interior cork seal with silver securing plate, and as a bonus there are no added personal engraved inscriptions.

MeasurementsLarge size, measures approx.3.25 inches (82mm)x 1.5 inches (38mm)andis1.3 inches (33mm) in height, excluding the screw ring.

Date English antique 19th Century Victorian solid sterling silver with a full set of silver hallmarks for London 1850(Gothic date letter \"P\"). Good clear marks and include the duty stamp of Queen Victoria. There are further silver hallmarks on the interior securing seal plate.
