Small Antique Mason\'s Ironstone Polychrome & Gilded Plate c1813-1820

~ Mandarin Family Pattern ~

6" in diameter

An early Mason\'s ironstone plate made to closely resemble Chinese export with finely raised transfer of a Chinese Mandarin, his wife and child inan outdoor palace room. It is thickly colored in with enamels in a broad palette and given some gilded details to the border and the wife\'s bodice. It has an early circular impressed Mason\'s mark and the printed crown mark is colored in pink; the logo was usually colored in whatever color the decorator used last.

In excellent condition with only minimal wear to the enamels, some minor yellow spots seen on the back I think from an old wire hanger.
