FINE & RARE ANTIQUE CAUCASIAN AKSTAFA PRAYER RUG CIRCA 1880\'S 3.3\" x 6 \' ESTATE FIND Here is a real beauty of a rug. slightly crooked at one end. All wool construction. A very collectible rug that is hard to find in the market place. Does have fine and beautiful colors with a very good weave. Has a pretty even pile, but does show wear with some foundation in the middle of the rug and a few other isolated spots of foundation showing. Blue cord selvedges overall good with some wear. Ends have very minimal losses. Showing some crude repairs/reweaves.
Great collector starter rug. Not to be passed in my opinion. As always, I do recommend a good soak and cleaning of all estate rugs when coming from an estate to a new owner.
