Description:
Interesting antique Chinese dress dagger - Qing dynasty, circa 1850.
Round wood sheath and handle covered with black lacquer and mounted with solid silver including a shaped, lobbed silver butt cap - the bands of silver are hand-chased with floral, geometric and Chinese key-pattern motifs - fine, hand-forged steel blade with the original sharpening, a deep groove and nasty tip.
Attached with a chain, a ring of old material with deep age patina and an antique Agate toggle formed as the peach of longevity with nice, detailed carving and great age ware.
Very good condition for the age - some losses to lacquer cover on the sheath - agate toggle with some age lines butstructurallysound - please view all detailed pictures.
Overall length is 30.5 cm - the knife is 27.5 cm and the blade is 16.2 cm long.
