This sale is for a rare and highly collectible signed Thomae Co. of Attleboro, Massachussetts sterling silver case or box with rich gold washed interior dating to c1940. Fully hallmarked in excellent condition with no dings, dents, scratching or repairs. Only some expected light wear consistent with age & use. A final polish is all it needs!

The box features a large 1 1/2\" x 1 1/4\" finely detailed engraved decoration of a bridled horse on the front cover. Overall dimensions are 3 1/8\" x 3 1/2\" x 5/8\" thick and weighs a substantial 137 grams fine sterling silver. Fully hallmarked at the right inside lip \"STERLING\" followed by the stylized intertwined Thomae Co. T & C stamp with stamped numbers \"52\" at the bottom interior of both covers as seen in the photographs. The case opens by using the large 2 1/8\" long tab at the front, revealing a beautiful gold washed interior. It shuts tightly closed on it\'s original hinge in excellent operating condition. The case is crafted with great attention to detail and superior quality materials. I\'m unsure what the original use was for this case, but you can use it for whatever you want as it would have many potential uses today!
