This exceptionally good quality antique dip pen measures 175mm (7\") long x 7mm (.25\") across the widest part of the nib and weighs 8.1 grams. It dates to around 1880 and is marked to the nib \" Aikin Lambert & Co No 5 \" and tests as 14K gold with a small band of enamel flowers running around the base and a fine tapered mother of pearl shaft. I think it must have been designed as a presentation piece and comes complete with its original case and the nib and shaft are in excellent condition and there are a few areas of missing enamel which I have tried to capture in the close up photos.
