GorgeousUltra Rare First Edition Sports Illustrated in MINT- CONDITION with harder to find shipping cover in very good+ shape. The Holy Grail of S.I. This is ungraded. Why would anyone want to grade ANY item andbanish it ineternal plastic?, I don\'t know...but it is ready to be graded if you arebent on doing so. It\'s kind of hard to enjoy an item if you can never touch it.

This has been in my families\' possession for 62 years, it was my great uncle\'s. It is near flawless, so near perfect, this is as close as you can get. One tiny, insignificant flaw on bottom back cover, pictured, and some irrelevant corner wear that you may needa magnifier to notice. Inner pages are mint, cards are mint, the shipping cover does has some obvious wear, but I rate it very highly, despite the wear and tear, these are even harder to find. Local experts have concurred that this is an ultra rare mint condition specimen. The graphics are as beautiful as the day it was printed.

The most famous issue of Sports Illustrated is the August 16, 1954 edition featuring popular Milwaukee Braves\' slugger Eddie Mathews on the front. It\'s the first regular edition. To entice fans Sports Illustrated editors included a three page center foldout of 1954 Topps baseball cards.
