EARLY ISSUE #0290 OF 9500 RELEASED BEGINNING IN 1996 BY FRANKLIN MINT
You are looking at a FRANKLIN MINT RETIRED - NO LONGER AVAILABLE PORCELAIN MARILYN MONROE DOLL, WITH WOOD AND ACRYLIC CASE, RELEASED AND PURCHASED IN 1996 FOR $500.00. This is the \"ULTIMATE MARILYN\" doll, 24\" tall, from the Movie \"THERE\'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS\". She played the role of \"VICKY\" in this movie. They released another porcelain doll of Marilyn for this movie in 1997 that\'s 19\" tall, and wearing the light blue dress. The case was also purchased in 1996, and made for a 24\" doll. There\'s also a 2006 released Post Card of an original picture taken of Marilyn in the movie included. I kept it placed inside the case with the doll as you can see in the posted pictures, which it\'s on your Left down at the bottom. The picture is like the doll, but a slightly different pose. Franklin Mint released 18 Porcelain Dolls of Marilyn Monroe, and this is Doll #8 of the 18 released, and the only 24\" they released. I have all of the 18 porcelain dolls, and this one will not fit inside my showcase. When it was first released, it sold for $500.00. I was very fortunate to get one of the early made dolls. Back then, you had to place an Order and you would receive your doll when it was completed. It\'s VERY UNFORTUNATE that Franklin Mint has decided to cease making Marilyn Monroe dolls. so they are all highly collectible, even all of the Vinyl ones they made. She\'s been in the case since purchased, but had to take her out to make pictures. To my knowledge, she\'s never been messed with other than taking her out of the box received in to place her in the case, and to take these pictures. Also, have looked for the original box and paperwork but unable to locate, so they will not be included in this sale. I only collect Porcelain dolls, and do hate to mess up my completed set by Franklin Mint of porcelain Marilyn Monroe dolls, but I really don\'t have anywhere appropriate to display her with my others. Also, if purchased, the case will be disassembled for packing, and it\'s very easy to reassemble. (PLEASE USE POSTED PICTURES FOR FURTHER DESCRIPTION).
