This is a supremely elegant 1920’s French oyster creperobe. It just oozes style and class andhas a distinct touch of the Great Gatsby or Downton Abbey to it.
I have not laundered it, hence the creased appearance as Inever press un-laundered items and I take the fact that it is not launderedinto account in my pricing.
It is in fabulous condition for its age but does have one ortwo expected little flaws. The topbutton has come off but I still have it and will send it with the robe. The rest of the buttons are losing their pinksilk covering. There are 3 marks nearthe hem on the rear and they may well remove but I cannot be sure. In addition there is a small darn near theopen section that adjoins the belt.
The skirt of the dress is very full and it floats and drapeswith extreme femininity. The width atthe hem is approximately 174cms or 68½”.The skirt is plain and the bodice has the addition of scalloped pinksilk ribbon running around the opening of the garment and in two rows on theback and front. In addition the waistband at the rear is bordered by the same ribbon, which continues on both edgesof the ribbon. The sleeves are cappedand the pleat follows down through the bodice.It is beautifully made and the tiny hem has been hand rolled and sewn.
There are no size labels on this garment and themeasurements have been taken while the garment was lying flat. They are as follows:
Length from back of neck to hem: 139cms or 54¾”
Under arm to underarm across the front of the chest: 40cmsor 15¾”
The width of the belt is 10cms or slightly less than 4”.
