A super quality French solid silver forkand spoon set. They are hallmarked with the Export Mercury Head 950 standardmark used from 1878 and the maker’s mark of Claude Doutre Roussel whooperated in Paris from 1895. I would date these to c1895-1900. They have beautifullydesigned flower terminals and have been thickly gilded (gold on silver). They are in supercondition being free from dings splits and repairs. The fork measures over 7 inches(18cms) long by over 0.75 inch (2.1cms) across the tines and the spoon the samein length by 1.5 inches (3.8cms) across the bowl they have a combined weight of58 grams. A super quality rare set.
