Recently, near Béziers (South of France), I acquired two folios from a local dealer, containing the academical heritage of two French artists. The folios came out of a local house.
The present drawing, executed in charcoal on laid watermarked paper, depicts a study of a male nude in a standing pose, lifting both his arms.Backside : a study of a classical sculpture.Authorship : the drawing is from the French School.
Period : ca. 1890.
Size : 63,5x47,7cm.
Condition : Good. Some scattered dirt throughout. Sides slightly damaged. Corners : traces of folding, pinch holes. Unframed.
