From a Connecticut Estate sale comes this Wonderful & Rare PAIRPOINT QUADRUPLE SILVER PLATE AESTHETIC ERA BRIDAL BASKET or CAKE STAND.
With a terrific detailed handle, engraved decoration in the bowl and a raised medallion in the middle, this stands nearly 12” tall with the handle raised and 5 ¼” tall to the top of the sloped, fluted edge.
Unlike many of these that I\'ve had, the handle stays in the upright position or can be lowered.
This is in excellent used condition (the flesh color you see of the top of the handle is a reflection from my hand) with a stippled interior and bright cut engraving with no plate loss, dents or other defects that I note.
Pairpoint was best known for its glass but also manufactured silver plate in the late 1800\'s until they concentrated on their glass works. All of my silver has been lightly polished for its photo shoot but can always benefit from additional polishing.
