Fantastic Four creators Stan Lee and Jack Kirby broke the superhero villain mode in 1966 by introducing Galactus in issue number 48, beginning the first in what fans call \'The Galactus Trilogy.\' To balance out the evil, the issue also introduced readers to the Silver Surfer, who emerged as an iconic superhero in the Marvel universe. Fantastic Four issue 48 begins with resolution of the inhumans saga and ends with Galactus trying to drain the live force from the planet. This comic is an important collector‘s item for several reasons. This issue left a legacy in the comic book universe as well as American popular culture, also serving as the inspiration behind the \'Fantastic Four\' TV series in 1967 and 1994, as well as the 2007 feature film, \'Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.\'
