Description:Lladro Spain EARLY number 1172 Girl Picking Flowers matte figurine, by the designer Vicente Martinez. Research shows this was originally issued in 1971 & retired in either 1992 or 1994 (the official Lladro historical site shows two listings with different retirement dates). The previous VIP owner Carwood Lipton of Band of Brothers fame, lived & worked in Spain during the 1960\'s & early 1970\'s, where he purchased several of these. The figurine is marked on the bottom with the cobalt blue Lladro Hand Made in Spain mark & other impressed numbers, symbols. The figurine measures approximately 8 1/4 inches tall, & 5 3/8 at the widest.The figurine is in good vintage estate condition as follows;I HAVE EXAMINED THE PIECE UNDER A BLACK LIGHT. NO CRACKS. THERE ARE EITHER SOME DELICATE FLOWERS & OR LEAF MISSING OR CHIPPED & NO OTHER CHIPS. THERE ARE SPOTS OF APPARENT OLD GLUE, MAINLY ON THE BACK OF HER DRESS, WHICH ALSO SHOWED UP UNDER THE BLACK LIGHT. THERE IS SOME WEAR ALONG THE BOTTOM RIM. THERE ARE SOME SMALL IMPRESSED FLEA SPOTS IN THE MAKING OF THE PIECE, WHICH ARE TYPICAL FOR MATTE PIECES.
