Info:I bought this kampilan some time ago with the intention of keeping it in my collection. This is one of the pieces I would like to hold onto but I need to thin the collection. The blade itself is very sold and a great example of thecraftsmanshipof the period. Ibelievethis is a moro kampilan as it has a barb that is in tact and in good shape. The blade also appears to have been restored at some point. The blade shows some signs of pattern welding but I cannot be sure. I did my best to photograph the blade to show the effects I am seeing.

The geometry of the blade is somewhat unique. It is wider at the blase than at the tip. It also seems to be wider in the center than at either of the edges. It feels light andmaneuverablefor a heavy blade. The blade has some chips in it and is not in great condition. The tip is also slightly bent.
