A stunning early 19th Century Regency Garnet & Seed Pearl Brooch, which has been hand crafted andfashionedin fine 18ct Gold; it has been set with a large natural cabochon-cut Garnet surrounded by Split Pearls. Typical of jewellery of this period the Brooch is unmarked but it is guaranteed to be made from solid 18ct Gold(please seethe detailed close-up photographs provided, which form an integral part of theitem\'s description).
This fabulous Brooch is in great condition and appears to have most of it\'s original Pearls, which show only slight wear to the surface. As expected the Garnet shows some wearto it\'s surface commensurate with age, together with inclusions (one of whichreachesthe surface); however this is characteristic of a gem of this size that has been cut and polished by hand.
This fine quality antique Brooch is approx\' 3cms long by approx\' 2.2cms wide and approx\' 9mm deep (excluding the pin); it weighs 6.7 grams.
