Here I am offering a fine antique portrait miniature painting, dating to the early 1800\'s (about 1805). British in origin, attributed to Thomas Richmond, (1771-1837).
Please excuse the photos, it was hard to photograph through the bowed glass. The miniature is even nicer than it comes out in the photos.The sitter is a intelligently looking middle aged lady, her brown curly hair under a bonnet. She may have been a widow, dressed in a very fine dark brown dress (note the fine piping) with white lace insert, a bow on her chin and a thick double gold necklace. Sky background.

Old frame, may be the original, with bowed glass.I did not open the miniature, there could be info about the sitter or artist inside.
