Fine Chinese Export Sterling Silver Cigarette Case, Dragon Motif & Shanghai Bund:

A fantastic and very rare Chinese Export Solid Sterling Silver cigarette case decorated with an engraved dragon and a view of the world famous Bund in Shanghai highlighted with gold plate. The Bund appears as if in a cloud and the word \"Shanghai\" is written above.

Both the dragon and the buildings of the Bund are picked out with two different colours of gold. This really is a very striking, and extremely rare piece especially in such a large size.

The background of the case has an attractive frostedfinish.

The case is marked STERLING on the inside along with an unidentified makers mark in Chinese.

Dimensions: 6 7/8 inches x 3 1/8 inches
Weight: Weight 191 grams

Condition: Excellent condition.
Date: Early 1900s

The case is in excellent condition, with no dents or deep scratches. The case opensand closes perfectly, and the clasp is perfect.
