This wonderful antique Chinese famille rose porcelain teapot has a nice form and is decorated with colorful enamel painted views of mandarin characters with gold in their hair. It also has enamel painted flowers, birds and insects along the shoulder and is highlighted with gold gilt on the spout, handle and finial. It dates from the 19th Century and measures approximately 10 inches tall by 10 + ½ inches across including the spout and handle by 6 + ½ inches at the shoulder and 4 + 1/8 inches across the base. It is in excellent condition with a shallow fleck along the rim that was restored.
