This is a large and veryimpressiveexample of this subject making this wonderful Cameo highly collectable. The detail & quality of the carving is simply sublime; indeed the carving is more thanperfect in every detail and the delicacy of this piece is trulyamazing.
The quality of carving is superb asshown by the wayeach fold in Hera\'s robe has been captured. Similarly the detail by which each feather of the Eagle has been brought to life by the carver is testimony to their considerable skill. As shown, the shell has no cracks or splits with only a couple of shell lines visible when held up to the light as shown;nothingreally but mentioning for descriptivecompleteness.
