FINE LARGE OLD NORTHWEST COAST SALISH NOOTKA NUU-CHAH-NULTH CEDAR TOTEM POLE:
$326.09

A fine large old Northwest Coast Salish Nootka Nuu-chah-nulth hand carved and painted cedar totem pole dating from the early to mid 1900\'s . A true masterwork of sculpture, this fine totem pole depicts an Eagle about to feast on a salmon pinned in his talons , followed by a bear at the base whose paws wrap around his swollen belly. Note the incredibly fine detailed carving, especially the eagle\'s legs and wings ! Hollowed out to delicate amazing thinness, please examine the photos to see what I mean. The totem stands 16\" tall on a rectangular base measuring 4 2/3\" x 4 1/8\" square and is in excellent condition for its age with damages or repairs, a couple of small water stains noted to the base otherwise just a great patina from age and careful handling. Signed \" Ronnie George Kuper Island BC\" . Kuper Island is a small island located in the Southern gulf islands of British Columbia and is home to the small Penelakut First Nations Tribe. The totem is probably the nicest example of carving I have seen from this tribe. A truly masterpiece worthy of the finest collections.

.The totem makes a great display item and a fine addition to anyone\'s collection. Please add $15 for careful shipping and insurance (USA and Canada). , so have fun offerding! Good Luck and Happy offerding. We\'ll be happy to combine shipping if feasible. Please check out other current offerings including a great Tlingit, Haida, Tsimshianand Kwakiutl totem poles, many historic baskets de-accessioned from museum collections including Salish, Haida , Tsimshian ,Cowlitz and Tlingit examples.
