Fine large mid 19th Century French portrait oil painting on canvas of a young lady. It is a beautifully observed study with an excellent rendition of the shot silk gown. In good clean condition throughout, relined in the last 30 years . The portrait measures 18 inches x 14 inches and 24\" x 20\" in its 19th century gilt frame (some losses). Signed with monogram and dated 1856. A lovely portrait of a young lady in a fine dress.
