Antique Japanese Carved Kappa & Dog NetsukeThis is a fine quality netsuke with great detail Original netsukes were used to hang pouches from the belt at a time when the Japanese traditionally wore Kimonos. Kimonos which generally do not have pockets required the owner to “wear” a coin pouch. The netsuke kept the pouch from falling off the belt.This netsuke is in very good condition with no chips and no cracks.
